When you or a loved one is ill, it can be very difficult. In these circumstances, it is vital that you see a doctor straight away, to receive urgent medical attention and have the best chance of recovery.

We realise that you have a lot of things to juggle, between children’s schooling, your work and organising childcare. A lot of our doctors have to balance their work and life, too. That is why we have decided to open up our clinic to take same day appointments.

Communication is key

Patients are also commonly concerned with their ability to communicate with the doctors, and with how to get the best medical care. As well as their medical aptitude, our doctors are hired based on their communication skills and their ability to display strong verbal and non-verbal communications. Having worked with a diverse range of Australian communities, over many years of practice, each of our doctors has demonstrated their aptitude in this area.

  • Meet Our Doctors

    • Dr K. Tan

      MBBS
      Dr Tan is an experienced general practitioner with his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. With over 30 years experience as a GP, Dr Tan brings with him a wealth of knowledge in general practice.

    • Dr Gwenda Griffiths

      MBBS (hons) B App Sci (physio) Hons FRACGP
      Dr Griffiths graduated from The University of Sydney in 1990 with a Physiotherapy degree and worked Cardiothoracic and ICU physio in Sydney, Newcastle and the UK. In 2003 she graduated from the University of Sydney post graduate medical programme and has worked extensively at The Canberra Hospital on inpatient wards, sexual health and emergency.

    • Dr Dan Corkery

      MBBS
      Dan completed a Bachelors of Information Technology before getting his MBBS from University of Sydney in 2006. Dan has recently relocated from Townsville to Canberra. He has worked extensively in the Emergency Medicine, Pre-Hospital and Trauma fields. His professional interests include Sports Medicine, Veterans Health and Paediatrics.

    • Dr Mark Fletcher

      MBBS BSc Biomed. Forensic Biology FRACGP
      After completing a degree in Forensic biology in 2005, Mark completed his medical studies from the Australian National University in 2011. He then completed his residency in Albury/Wodonga with a special interest in Critical Care and Anaesthetics. Mark moved back to Canberra/Queanbeyan in 2013 and now enjoys working as a General Practitioner with a special interest in Emergency medicine and Men’s Health.

    • Dr Rathi Sasitharan

      MBBS DCH FRACGP
      Dr Sasitharan graduated  from India in 2004, and has over 10 years of experience in the field of general medicine from overseas and Australia. Dr Sasitharan has been working in Canberra, Goulburn and Yass for the past seven years. Her main interests are in women’s health, paediatrics, mental health and chronic diseases management.

    • Dr Shiamala Suntharalingam

      BSC(Hons), MB BS, DRCOG, DFFP, LoCIUT, LoCSDI, MRCGP, FRACGP
      Dr Suntharalingam graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1997 then undertook GP training. She has a special interest in women’s health and family planning being able to do Implanon fitting, MIRENA IUD and Copper IUD fittings and removals. She enjoys the variety that GP brings from chronic disease management, child health, acute medicine, minor procedures, travel medicine and care of patients of all ages.

    • Leanne Petrie (RN)

      BN
      Leanne is a registered nurse who graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from University of Canberra in 2005. Leanne worked at Queanbeyan and Canberra Hospitals until 2015 where she specialised in operating theatre and surgical nursing. Leanne is a qualified nurse immuniser, and has an interest in wound management.
